Haley Elizabeth Judy was born on Feb. 11th and blessed on May 15th by her dad. Haley is 3 months old and a joy to have in our family. She is our 7th grandchild, 3rd girl and our 8th grandchild is due July 5th. We are so blessed to have our grand children in our lives. We are also grateful for our many blessings, to have the true church upon the earth and an eternal family.

This year we, along with Robert & Katie got season tickets to the U of A football games here in Tucson. We had a great view of the entire field from our seats and enjoyed ourselves on the first home game of the season. We are looking forward to the rest of the season and the exciting games!

Jeff had his Eagle Scout Board of Review and passed with flying colors. Jeff is the last boy of 4 who has earned his Eagle Scout Rank. I am grateful for the Scouting program in our lives and for the awesome Leaders who put 100% of there time to help these boys reach there goal. Tony and I are both Unit Commissioners and have been trained to train and help other Scout Leaders. Every boy deserves a trained Leader. We are in the Scouting program for life.

Heitje was honored today at a luncheon for Hispanic Student Athlete of the year for MHS. We had mariachi entertainment and mexican food of course for our meal. There was 32 high schools represented. She also got to meet Max Zendejas Hall of Fame UA Kicker. We are proud of Heitje for being chosen for this award and the great example she has been as an athlete for 4 years at Marana High School.

Heitje Graduated from seminary with honors, her 4th year in a row, on May 2nd. We are very proud of her, she also had 100 percent attendance for 4 years in a row. MHS Girls Soccer Season comes to an end

Heitje Just finished up her last Year of high school soccer. She has been playing on the varsity team since her freshman year and loved all four years of it. This year she was chosen to be one of the three captains. She had a great time with all her friends from the team. Her team had a very good season and made it to the state quarter finals but lost. She is sad that soccer is over but she had a great time. The Lady Tigers had a great season and heitje was proud to be apart of the team.

Heitje's friend Olivia Brown started looking into our church because she started hanging out with Heitje and her two best friends Jessie and Morgan. She would go to church activities with them and she was even going to seminary with them. She loved how everyone in the church was always so nice and welcoming. She started taking the missionary discussions and decided that she wanted to become baptized. She recently got baptized on November 28th and we were all so excited for the decision that she made. She is a great person and we are all just grateful for her and the example that she sets. We love you Olivia and know that if you follow the commandments it will be worth it in the long run.

We celebrated Brody's birthday on sunday since the family was already in town for my birthday. Valerie and Clarissa made the cool Racetrack Cake. Brody didn't dig into the cake he just put his fingers in the frosting. We had a fun time with the family and it was good to see everyone.

I can't believe it's been 50 years already where has the time gone. My sister Mary sent me a birthday card and said welcome to the 50th club since four of us are now in that club. I am grateful to be in good health and for the gospel in my life that has brought me so much joy. For my children and grandchildren that I can spend time with. Families are eternal and are of god. I am also grateful for my calling as 2nd counselor in Stake Primary Presidency where we can bring children unto christ and hope to save as many as we can in this tough world we live in.

Today is Heitje's Birthday and she is now 18. Where did the time go, it seems just yesterday I held her in my arms? Heitje Danielle Carranza was born in Riverside, California on a hot summer day. When I was pregnant with her I had so much heartburn I truly thought I was going to die. But then when I went into labor Heitje surprised me , she was born in 23 minutes after I arrived at the hospital, I bearly made it to the hospital. When Heitje was born first thing nurse said was look at those" long eye lashes". We are so grateful to have a beautiful daughter that has so much to offer to those she meets. She has a great smile and loves to babysit, she will be a great Mom someday. Heitje earned her Young Woman Recognition award back in April 2009 . She is a Senior this year and is in the NJHS , Student Council and plays in the MHS Varsity Soccer team . She is a great student and works hard in all she does. We love you Heitje and are proud of you for all your accomplishment's and wish you a Happy Birthday and a great year.

Philmont Trip

Heitje and Jeff went on a trip to cimarron, New Mexico and attended a boy scout camp (Philmont) while they were there. They went with a bunch of youth from our ward. They hiked 75 miles in ten days. They loved all the beautiful Views of New Mexico. They had such a great experience even though they were stuck eating dehydrated food. Here are some pictures from their trip.

We all got together (Carranza's) and went to San Diego for the July 4th weekend. We were able to plan a family picnic with there aunt's, cousin's and there families. We all had a great time down in San Diego shopping at outlets, eating and not enough sleep. Since it had been 4 years we had not been back as a family . Everyone is grown up and has there own family now. We hope to go more often to visit family or they will come visit us when weather cools.

Heitje also went to Jeff's promotion instead of attending the last day of school for her. He will start at Marana High School with Heitje in August and is very excited. We are very proud of his many accomplishments and know that there will be more to come.

The journey began and many expressed their concerns that we were too young, but we knew that it was right and that there would be sacrifices to be made and goals to be set and that our ultimate goal was to do what ever it takes to return as a family to our Father in Heaven .

There is no way we could have come this far on our own only with the help of our older brother Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice.

Vangie is the love of my life.

Today I woke up to a breakfast made by Robert, Heitje, and Jeff that was very tasty. I was very surprised to find breakfast made, what great kids I have. I was grateful to receive thoughtful cards from my children, grandchildren and husband. I also received roses from Hyrum and Heitje. It was great to spend the day with the kids that aren't married yet. When I woke up this morning I read a quote from the book "Stand A Little Taller" by President Gordon B. Hinckley and i would like to share it with all the mothers I know. It is called "Rise To Your Potential" it reads

"I feel to invite every woman everywhere to rise to the great potential within you. I do not ask that you reach beyond your capacity. I hope you will not nag yourselves with thoughts of failure. I hope you will not try to set goals far beyond your capacity to achieve. I hope you will simply do what you can do in the best way you know. If you do so, you will witness miracles come to pass."

Heitje had three days of try-outs for soccer. She just found out that she made it on varsity again. She has been on varsity since her freshman year but she still had to try-out and do her best. We are all proud of her accomplishment.

Jeffrey has been hard at work earning the following merit badges: Communications, Personal Management, Environmental Science, Forestry, Basketry, Metal Work, Archery and has partials in Citizenship in the Nation, Fishing, Family Life.

Jeffrey also earned the rank of Life Scout and we are very proud of him.

Tony owns Aire-Master of Tucson and San Diego which is a sanitization and deodorizing business. He is also the first counselor in the bishopric of our ward. He stays busy with work and his calling. He loves to spoil the grandkids and have them over at the house.
I work at the middle school that jeffrey attends. I am an aide in the classroom. I'm also the second counselor in the young womens presidency. I am the treasurer of the pto of heitje's high school.
We have two adorable grandchildren and two on the way that will be arriving in October.
